Room for two is the nights times the nightly rate plus any nightly fee, rounded up to the next ten dollars. Per person is half of that, rounded up to the next ten dollars. Taxes are added by the lodging. Fourteen rates come from a named month, shown on the stay pages; the Copper Harbor rate is the motel's posted starting rate, which gives no month or year.
Where the rates come from
Each rate is our working figure from what the lodging showed for the named month, on its own website or through a public travel website. It is a starting point for the quote, and your dates can come in higher or lower.
Taxes and charges on top
Michigan adds a 6% use tax to a room, and some counties add a room tax of their own. The lodging adds both to its bill, and the quote names them. If a lodging bills a local tourism assessment as a line of its own, the quote shows it and counts it inside the room total.
Stays across the Straits also pass the Mackinac Bridge toll, $4 per car each way at the time of writing, paid at the bridge. Fuel, meals unless breakfast is listed, park entry and anything optional stay outside the figure.
Fees to the traveler: none
Nothing. The lodging pays us a commission after your stay, which is why the request and the quote cost you nothing.
