Ludington lakefront inn stay, reserved for three nights by our office

From, room for two$2903 nights · from $150 per personNot included: taxes, meals and park entry.

This Ludington lakefront inn stay puts you at an inn on a tree-lined avenue near the beach, a short way from Stearns Park and the open water of Lake Michigan. From Southfield, our office lines up three nights for two at a lakefront avenue inn that keeps a front desk of its own, checks with that inn about an open room and its nightly price, and sends you a single written quote to weigh before any decision.

Ludington sits in Mason County, well up the western shore of the Lower Peninsula. Getting there is your own drive; at the inn you register at the counter and settle the bill with the inn itself. Planning costs you nothing, and reserving carries no charge from us either. Our pay arrives later, as a commission the inn sends the office once your stay is over.

Breakwater light at the end of the avenue

The white pyramid at the top of this page is the North Breakwater Light, standing at the far end of the harbor breakwater where waves break along the concrete. Ludington Avenue runs through downtown and ends at Stearns Park beach on Lake Michigan, and the Pere Marquette Lake harbor opens behind the town.

North of town, Ludington State Park spreads its dunes between Lake Michigan and Hamlin Lake. Big Sable Point Lighthouse stands inside the park, and walkers reach it on foot from within the park grounds.

Free parking at the lakefront avenue inn

Our pick here is a lakefront avenue inn with a front desk of its own, where you register on arrival; the picture beside shows a lodging of this kind. Its name appears only in the quote we write for you, never here. Free parking comes inside the figure, as the inn shows it.

Three autumn nights at a working rate

The figure starts from $290 for the room for two across 3 nights, or from $150 per person. Behind it sits a November 2026 working rate starting from $95 per night for two, taken from a public travel website, and no mandatory nightly fee is listed beyond it.

Left outside the figure: Michigan's 6% use tax, whatever room tax the county charges, fuel, meals, and state park entry. Once the inn gives its actual price for your nights, that price takes the place of the working rate. Every figure is explained on our pricing page.

Inside this total

  • The room for two for 3 nights at the lodging's rate for the month
  • Free parking, as the lodging shows it

Left for you to pay on the road

  • Michigan's 6% use tax and any county room tax
  • Fuel and meals
  • State park entry
  • Summer nights, which run higher

Pool summers and early November

May through early November is when Ludington goes on our calendar. Mid November to April it stays off, and the outdoor pool only opens from Memorial Day to Labor Day, worth knowing if a swim is the point. Summer nights run higher than the November rate used here, so a July quote will land above this figure.

Lodging named, terms copied in full

In writing you get the inn by name, the room, its price for the month and number of nights you asked about, the room total, the taxes the inn adds and its cancellation terms word for word. Read it at your own pace. A room is held for you only after a written yes from you; at that point the office asks the inn to reserve it.

Two hundred thirty-four miles to the lakeshore

Mapped from the Southfield office, the route comes to 234 road miles and about 4 hr 15 min with no stops, a computed time that a real trip will run past. On a straight line north, Ludington is 101 miles above the office at 43.96 degrees north, still south of the 45th parallel.
